TRASH AND RECYCLING WILL BE PICKED UP ON MONDAY’S

Trash and recyclables are to be placed curbside THE NIGHT BEFORE PICK-UP AND NO LATER THAN THAN 7A.M. OF THE COLLECTION DAY.

Trash AND Recycling will be picked up every week on Monday’s.

Use of plastic bags for trash is strictly prohibited, unless inside a container with a secure lid.

Grass and lawn debris MUST be placed in a paper-bag not plastic for pick-up.

To report a complaint regarding trash/recycling pick-up, please contact Borough Hall @ 609-522-4845

The contractor for the Borough’s trash collection should not be contacted directly. All complaints or concerns should be directed through Borough Hall in order for the Borough to maintain a records of complaints and dispositions of those complaints.

BOTTLES AND CANS
(Items can be mixed into a trash container, but not in plastic bags)
glass bottles and jars (all colors)
household plastic containers (i.e. detergent, cooking oil, and bleach) #1 and #2 only
aluminum cans, tin-plated steel cans (i.e. fruit, vegetable, fish, and pet foods)
plastic soda bottles, water, milk jugs, detergent, bleach, and cooking oil containers #1
and #2 only ,bi-metal cans (i.e. non-aluminum beverage cans)

PAPER
(Items are to be bundled or placed in Brown Paper Bags)
** Cardboard cannot be used as a trash container
**Please do not recycle items that are contaminated with food, etc.

Bulk Trash List

Each property owner requiring bulk trash pick up shall, at least one week prior to the bulk pick up day which is the first Tuesday of the month, pay the borough clerk a set fee for said services as follows:

Computer and Electronics Recycling Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

Electronics Recycling
Cape May County residents and *businesses may bring two computers or two TV’s, or one of each FREE. “Computer” means CPU, monitor and all other peripherals. Additional TV’s and monitors will be accepted at $5.00 each.

Stereos, radios, laptops, CPUs, peripherals, electric typewriters, word processors, telephone systems, faxes and cabling accepted FREE.

*Computer and electronics businesses are not included in this program; those businesses should call the CMCMUA at 465-9026 for a list of electronics recyclers.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Cape May County residents may bring household hazardous wastes such as gasoline, automotive products, oil-based paints and solvents, pesticides and herbicides. Look for registration form in local newspapers during August, or call the Cape May County MUA at 465-9026.

Note: Used oil, oil filters and antifreeze are accepted FREE year round, during normal operating hours, at the Transfer Station and Landfill.

Tire Amnesty and Propane Tank Recycling

Cape May County residents and *businesses can bring up to eight tires FREE. Tires may be car, truck and tractor trailer tires with or without rims. Additional tires (over 8) will be accepted and charged as follows: car and truck tires at $1.00 each and tractor trailer tires at $5.00 each. Obsolete barbecue propane tanks will be accepted at $5.00 each.

*Businesses that buy, sell or haul tires are not eligible for this program.

Proof of residency required.
